With most of the current laptops not having an RS232 serial port it can be very inconvenient having to find a USB to RS232 converter that works reliably across a large range of products. We have had the most success with this adapter having used it for several years on various systems.
Unfortunately due to the variations of PC’s and systems we do not guarantee that it will work for you BUT we have not found a windows system that it will not work on.

Specifications - What the manual says......

PC-USB-RS232 can plug directly into a unused USB port using it's inbuilt USB "A" plug where space permits.  A short 10cm detachable USB extension cable allows the PC-USB-RS232 to be used where connector spacing does not allow the PC-USB-RS232 to be inserted directly.

PC-USB-RS232 features a full set of RS-232 modem data and control signals (TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD, RI, and GND) on its PC compatible DB9 male connector and has an internal 128 byte transmit buffer FIFO and a 384 byte receive buffer FIFO.  It supports RS232 data transfer rates of up to 230K bps and no external power supply is required as PC-USB-RS232 takes its power from the USB bus.

PC-USB-RS232 comes complete with drivers for Microsoft Windows '98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP with the Windows XP drivers being fully WHQL certified.  Also included are drivers for Apple OS8, OS9 and OSX. Linux kernel 2.4.20 or greater USB drivers are also included with this product.
