What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect from you your name, email address, phone number and address for the purpose of providing sales and marketing activities consistent with our primary purpose of distributing electrical control equipment. If you require to pay for these goods or services by using a debit or credit card then we will also collect additional data in order to process the payment. This information will include the credit card number, security code, billing name & address and expiry date.

We do not store the credit card number, security code or expiry date either electronically or on paper.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

It is necessary to share your credit card data with our service provider in order to process the payment, this data consists of the credit card number, security code, billing name & address and expiry date together with the amount of the transaction. Our payment processor for credit and debit cards is Paypal.

We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone without your advance explicit permission or unless ordered by a court of law.  Information submitted to us is only available to employees managing this information for purposes of contacting you by phone, sending you emails or post based on your request for information and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you.
If you are unhappy with the use of your data you have the the right to complain and be removed from our database or view/ change your information at any time. If you would like to do this please send us an E-mail at sales@i4automation.co.uk explaining the action you wish us to take.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Mailing Lists

Our database marketing mailing lists are both opt in. If you wish to be on our product update mailing list please do get in touch and we can arrange for you to opt in to this. We have bought in marketing lists in the past, these lists have all been deleted from our systems.

In the first instance please email sales@i4Automation.co.uk There is no charge for this service and we have up to 30 days to respond to the data request. We reserve the right to make a reasonable charge for additional copies of information that has already been supplied.

How can you stop receiving email from us?

From time to time, we send out marketing and sales information in the form of an email. Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or to change your expressed interests. If you wish to do this, simply follow the instructions at the end of any email.

If you have received unwanted, unsolicited email sent via this system or purporting to be sent via this system, please forward a copy of that email with your comments to sales@i4automation.co.uk for review.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is in effect from the 25th May 2018. This regulation gives many companies the opportunity to review the way they hold your data. Here at i4Automation we collect data such as your name, addresses, email and phone number for the purposes of order processing and warranty information. We have never/ will never sold/ sell on data to third parties; our feeling is we treat your data as if it were our own! We also meet all the requirements for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for processing credit/debit cards which puts us in a good start position for meeting GDPR requirements.

How we protect your privacy data

Information provided to us by you will be stored on our computers and on the servers of our cloud-based office solution. Our computers reside behind firewalls and are constantly updated with the latest operating system security patches, as recommended by the manufacturer. Anti-virus software is also used with automatic scheduled updates to the virus signature definitions. Access to the buildings containing the computers is restricted by door locks and access to your personal data is restricted to employees who need to use that information.
