Expandable IO modules for the UniStream Modular, Built-In & Virtual HMI PLCs

Unitronics’ UniStream PLCs can be expanded whether they have IO built in or not. The wide range of robust IO on this page can be configured on any UniStream PLC to suit your requirements with up to 16 IO modules using the powered expansion cable. The Modular and Virtual HMI PLCs can be expanded by attaching IO directly to the PLC/CPU or Din-rail mounted away from the PLC using the UAG expansion cables. The built-in IO PLCs can be expanded further with the use of UAG-CX expansion cables.

Description

A wide range of IO can be connected directly to the back of the PLC/HMI or Din-rail mounted using the appropriate expansion cable.

If you would like to connect remote IO over CANbus then the following Expansion adaptor is required.

The EX-RC1 adaptor is a stand alone network adaptor that connects to up to eight IO modules via ribbon cables but then connects to the master PLC on a CANbus network. The CANbus cable is user supplied.

The EX-RC1 Expansion module can be connected to a UniStream PLC to allow the use of these DIN-rail mounted IO modules over CANbus.

Digital IO

The screens can be expanded via DIN rail mounted IO using the interfaces below together with the on board IO and ethernet IO expansion options.

EXF-RC1 Remote I/O adaptor module via CANbus, multiple EX-RC1 adaptors may be connected to each PLC with up to 8 I/O expansion modules per adaptor.

Modular EXP Cables

UniStream PLCs allow IO to be attached to the back of the PLC, directly connected to the CPU unit.
If you would like IO to be placed away from the PLC and DIN-rail mounted, then an Expansion cable/ EXP Kit is required.
The Expansion cables/ EXP kits below range from 1.25M to 30M & are either powered or non-powered depending on the IO you wish to attach and will enable the use of any UniStream IO to be mounted away from the PLC.

Built-In EXP Cables

UniStream built in PLCs has IO built in to the back of the PLC/HMI.
